Jen and I love Time Team. We've watched Mick, Phil, Carenza and the rest of the gang dig up all of Great Britain for years. We were deeply saddened when Professor Mick Aston passed away. We recently learned about DigVentures and the festival honoring his life and accomplishments, and knew we had to be a part of it. So, we are traveling to Edinburgh, staying in Old Town for a few days, and then trekking to the Holy Island of Lindisfarne.
Later, we decided to travel by train to Oxford rather than back to Edinburgh. This would give us a couple of days to visit places we didn't get to see during our day trip there in 2016. Jen has never been on a train trip of quite that duration (it's about 5 and a half hours from Berwick-upon-Tweed to Oxford), so I hope she'll enjoy it. It should be a very picturesque trip.
