I made a promise to my children when they became adults that would take each of them on a trip anywhere in the world they wanted to go. My son chose Scotland, and we went there in 2023.
My daughter had other ideas. We talked about Italy, Morocco, African safaris; at one point we discussed Yellowstone. But I think it was probably always going to be France. They love the country and the language, and I don't think the opportunity to go back and visit could be denied.
