The National Museum of Scotland

After a night's sleep we awoke to the pleasant news that our luggage had finally arrived at the front desk.  Needless to say this made the morning's prep far happier and we soon descended to the hotel's wonderful dining area to break our fast.

As was our way, we had a rough idea of what we wanted to do and see with our day, but we left the details and logistics until the time was upon us.  Neither of us likes a hard timetable during vacation, and we both enjoy the spontaneity of discovering as we go.

Our first stop was at the nearby Scottish National Museum.  I fell in love with the place almost immediately;  it was a beautiful Victorian era arrangement of glass and delicate wrought iron, grand and airy and filled with all manner of wonderful things.
