Back to Old Blighty

We flew from Austin on the British Airways direct flight to London, the same flight we'd taken on our previous journey.  It's an overnight flight, starting at 6:45 CDT and completing around 9:30 AM BST (British Summer Time).

A napkin from the trip.  I can't remember who started it, but it became a bit of a game, like passing notes in class.  Guess the movie!

Finally touchdown in London. From here, we'd have a 4 hour layover until our flight to Edinburgh.   We were both very tired; I never sleep well on planes, and Jen was feeling some Mal de Mer from the turbulence (it was unusually bumpy over the American Midwest and Canada).

Finally, we reached our destination for the next few days, the beautiful city of Edinburgh.  The wind was so strong that when we landed and were idling on the tarmac, I looked out of the window and saw what I thought was the grass being flattened by jet wash until I realized it was laying in the wrong direction.  We were soon descending directly into it down the dismbarkment before taking refuge in the airport.

Our luggage would end up being delayed until the next day due to the wind preventing the crews from unloading it.  Yikes!

Sans luggage, we cabbed from the airport into Old Town, to our lodgings, the Hotel du Vin.
